Three (maybe four) things that could ruin your app
There is nothing worse than searching for a specific app, downloading it and then after a few clicks it all goes wrong. It’s the fastest way to lose a customer and with the competition out there, you may lose them for good if you don’t get it right from the word go.
The first thing you need to think of is the design of your app. Your users’ experience on your app will make or break it. Does it flow, does it make sense or could there be a better way to navigate around your app? Ask parents, colleagues and kids to help you determine if the flow and design works, and of course, use an experienced UX designer to do the design.
The next important thing that you need to do before you sell your app is to test, test and test. Test on every network (I know, it shouldn’t matter (but maybe it might)), every device you can lay your hands on and click every link, button and box that your app has.
Use your app and get your friends and family to use it too. Kids and grandparents are ideal for this, as they will use and see it from a different perspective and may find ways in which to enhance your app that you had not thought of. Get them to try and break it as only then will you know what you have to do in order to make it market-ready.
Once it’s ready, go for it, but don’t forget to test, test and test again, the beauty of apps is that they can be updated and enhanced at a click of a button, so you can always be sure that users are seeing the same experience on their app as you are!
Good design and testing are the best ways in which your app will be enjoyed by your audience, so don’t ruin it by forgetting to factor this into the development of your app.
